Hi Everyone

A nice week of weather for tennis.. Hopefully you are getting a chance to play before the potential rain!

Raducanu wins to reach quarters in Seoul. She beat Yuan who is ranked around 30 places higher so there is still hope!

Club News

Grace tournament entries are out so get booking on this doubles event in aid of the GRACE charity. You get allocated a partner so pot luck but good fun and new challenges.

Big welcome to our new members... Good to see some of you playing at the social sessions... Don't forget to ask anything you like about the club... No question is silly.... Actually it probably is, but we will try to disguise any thoughts!

Well done to our teams competing last weekend. Wins losses and draws... We learn for the next time....

Check out the new shoe bath next to clubhouse.... It's a luxury experience....

Check out the new bike area opposite the old bike area.. It's got a roof and softer base to give the tyres a more luxury experience..

Don't forget the box leagues and to get in touch with Dathan if you have any queries..

Wednesday & Saturday socials running as normal so come on down for a game. Remember the lights are needed a bit earlier on Wednesdays so a bit more waiting around, but never that long and a chance to chat and mingle with each other, talking tennis & life and moaning that you picked a rubbish number in the random "who's on court next" process...

Coaching Tip of the Week

Be more decisive around the baseline... A lot of players hug the baseline and then when a really deep ball comes in they are too close... Imagine an imaginary baseline a little bit further back and prepare as if the ball is going to bounce there. You will hold a slightly deeper position, but this will be a benefit so there is more decisiveness. If it bounces close to the real baseline you are ready to play a good shot and same for the other one but you can call it out!

Joke of the Week (Edinburgh fringe winner 2024...)

" I was going to sail around the globe in the world's smallest ship, but I bottled it!"

Don't forget Wimbledon ballot is open at the moment....

Have a good week and don't forget to smile and say hi when you are down at the club...  It's a sociable thing...
