Tennis Finals Day 2024

Don't Miss Tennis Finals Day at
Dorking Lawn Tennis & Squash Club
June 29th!

Calling all DLTSC Members!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 29th as we celebrate the culmination of our T’24 club competition with a thrilling Finals Day.

Get ready for a day packed with 30 exciting finals – 20 events showcasing the best of our adult members and 10 featuring our talented junior players. The excitement is building as most competitions have reached the semi-final stage, with finalists battling it out for the ultimate glory!

Matches will be played all day and all finalists need to be available from 9 until 5 and while the full order of play is yet to be determined (we'll finalise it once all finalists are confirmed), one thing's for sure – you won't want to miss the major cup matches starting either at 3pm or 5pm (confirmation to come next week). These include the highly anticipated:

  • Men's Singles Final (can left-handed powerhouse and last year’s winner, Stacy, beat Tristan again, it was extremely close last year, with some cramp playing it’s part in the  ?  Or will semi-finalists James or Duncan upset the apple cart in the lead up to the rematch ?)
  • Ladies Doubles Final (Claire and Juliette have had a relatively easy run to the final this year, however this is sure to change in the final but will they face Coach Nicky and Katie or multiple cup winners Tracey and Laura ?)
  • Men's Doubles Final (Unseeded Dangerous Dave and Ash have yet to play Stacy and James in the David and Goliath semi final on one side of this draw, on the other we have Tristan and Duncan vs Euan and 1st team captain ‘cool hand’ Luke, in a too close to call match)

Beyond the on-court action, there's plenty to enjoy for everone throughout the day:

  • All-day bar service to keep you hydrated and refreshed.
  • Delicious BBQ to satisfy your taste buds.
  • And this year's exciting addition: fresh pizzas!

The long-term weather forecast looks promising, so come prepared to soak up the sunshine and cheer on our fantastic competitors. Get ready for a day filled with nail-biting matches, camaraderie, and a true celebration of the sport we love!

We look forward to seeing you there!
Will

PS We have already had some finalists say that they cannot play on finals day, even though this is a condition of entry, if this is the case the etiquette is that you play your semi final until you have match point and at that point concede the match.
