Grace Finals Day
The Grace Tournament Finals Day took place on Saturday, with very good weather, and we were glad to welcome Alan King from Jackson Stops. The morning saw the semi’s take place followed by a BBQ with a very good turnout, and then the finals, in which we saw some great tennis.
Congratulations to the winners, mixed, Stacey Hatzipetrou and Alison Reid, the men’s ,Luke Daniels and Alistair Bradshaw and the women’s, Carmen Schmidt and Jo Heal. Trophies were kindly presented by Alan King and Paul Daniels who gave a great speech on Will’s behalf.
This dovetailed nicely into the social tournament, with Catherine winning the ladies and John Pearson the men’s,
A special mention to Carmen, who after playing most of the day kindly made up the numbers we needed to equal out the tournament.
Sandwiches and cakes were available throughout the afternoon and into the early evening when Paula served up some inventive (and strong) sundowners and for those stalwarts who still remained Stav entertained us with some amazing magic.
All in all a fantastic day, really great turnout, great tennis, food and weather.
Well done to George, Katie, Martin and Tim for all their hard work in organising everything.
