Swiatek gets a 1 month doping ban for testing positive for a prohibited substance... "The ITIA accepted that the positive test was caused by the contamination of a regulated non-prescription medication (melatonin), manufactured in and sold in Poland, that Swiatek had been taking for jet lag and sleep issues, and that the violation was therefore not intentional..."

Coaching Tip of the Week

Mental Skills Needed for Tennis

  • Incorporate mental preparation tactics, such as visualization, positive self-talk, and breathing exercises, into your training routines.
  • Develop a set of pre-game habits to help you keep your cool under pressure.
  • Create the appropriate mindset with performance cues such as one point at a time, play with margin over the net, and be patient in the rally.
  • Follow a consistent routine between points that fully prepares you for each point. Check your strings, turn away from court, little footsteps.
  • Envision yourself being strong.

So hopefully you are getting loads of tennis in.. Wrap up warm and make sure you warm up properly before full throttle movement and points.

Have a good week and will update you on any club party dramas in the next newsletter...

Sending Hugs

Brian
