Someone pointed out a passion flower growing next to the pathway at the end of court 9 as you walk towards the club house.. Apparently if you touch it you are destined for more passion in your life!
Singles Box league (Not our version of!)  details have recently been emailed out by Dathan. Get yourself signed up. A chance to play different players and meet players of similar standard. Win or lose you will gain some more experiences...
Good results for the teams this week with wins for mixed 1st team v SSP, another good draw for Tim Howe's 4th team, a big 8-0 win for ladies 1st team v Valentin's Kingswood (Great we stuck it to them!), and a win for mens 2nds v Leatherhead.
Always worth popping down for a drink at the club on a monday or tuesday or sunday mornings to see our teams in action.
Good luck to our U11 boys & U10 mixed teams this weekend.
Well done to our junior Dom Farrant for being the last junior to still be playing in the main draws.
Teenage Tennis & Pizza this Friday 5-6pm so get them off the screens and down the club for a bit of tennis & social!!
Thought of the Week

Coaching Tip of the Week
Look at your net clearance on your groundstrokes to give yourself more consistency and time on your rallying shots... If you try to hit low over the net all the time you risk dumping your shots in the net and you have to hit harder to make the ball go deeper. Hitting that ball a bit higher and deeper keeps your opponent behind the baseline and restricts attacking shots.

Obs when you are attacking aim lower!
Good advice... Rally cross court attack down the line... Mostly!
Cocktail of the Week

Couple of Interesting Facts

  • Broccoli, peppers & cauliflowers have more vitamin C than oranges
  • Cows can smell things from up to 5 miles away
  • One habit of intelligent humans is being easily annoyed by people around them, but saying nothing in order to avoid a meaningless argument
  • Iceland does not have a railway system
  • Costa Coffee employs Gennaro Pelliccia as a coffee taster, who has had his tongue insured for £10 million since 2009
  • Andy Murray has 3 knee caps

So we all look forward to seeing you down on the courts or just popping in for a drink or to pick up something you have forgotten! Always say hello....
Have a good week...
